Wow - just look at this: the World Kitesurfing Championships are coming up right here in Andalucia in Tarifa, where else?
This is the Telefonica Movistar Kite Pro 2008 and it gives us more reason than ever to visit this wonderful, windswept corner of Cádiz province on the Costa de la Luz. As all longtime residents of Andalucia know, Tarifa is famous for the excellent quality of its wind which blows in some of the biggest surfing professionals world wide and turns this seaside village into a Mecca for the trendy, younger set that travels the world in search of sun, sea, sand and most of all: water sports. If you're looking to get in on this championship, then get to Tarifa by the 2nd of July when it all begins. The event runs through the 6th of July at 5:30 in the afternoon with an awards ceremony.
