(Aqwa Mist Nightclub)
Nightclub closed in the winter of 2019 and in Spring 2020 a for sale notice was posted.
Nightclub was situated under the La Sala bar, on Calle Belmonte over the main road from Puerto Banus complex towards Centro Plaza. It was part of the same La Sala group. This popular sophisticated nightclub that held 600 was known for its luxury entrance where guests passed under a silver waterfall that flows down the entire end of the building. Inside there are more water features. Famous DJs, live acts and celebrity public appearances are the theme of Aqwa Mist.
Miss Agnese Klavina, aged 30 a Latvian working as a waitress in Marbella for six months disappeared in the early hours of 6th September 2014. She met two British friends at Aqwa Mist and was last seen on the nightclub CCTV entering their Mercedes car outside the club. They say they dropped her at a roundabout on the Ronda road as she had not wanted to go to their house in El Madroñal. The two men were charged with kidnap and stood trial in Malaga in 2016. They later received a suspended sentence for 'coercion'. In July 2021 they were aquiited by the Supreme Court ironically the day after one of them died of a Covid related stroke. Miss Klavina has never been seen since.
The location was a Real Estate office up to 2008, before being a nightclub. Before in the 1990s that is was a small supermarket.
