Playa de Camposoto

Camposoto beach has a length of around 9km of fine, golden sand. It is well known for its excellent wind surfing conditions, thanks to the fairly strong winds on the Costa de la Luz. It is also home to a large area of sand dunes and beautiful clear waters. In previous years the beach has been awarded its own blue flag for its cleanliness and high standards of facilities including showers, toilets, parking, lifeguards, changing rooms, three beach bars and seasonal kiosks. Nowadays it share this with adjacent Playa del Castillo. The drive to the beach is very interesting as the roads cross over the marshes. There are several boardwalks running from the parking areas onto the beach that cross over the streams.

Playa del Castillo

This is a beautiful 3 kilometre stretch of beach to the south, currently awarded a Blue Flag award together with adjacent Playa de Camposoto. The beach is called Playa del Castillo (Castle Beach), since at the end point at the Punta del Boquerón (Anchovy Point) is near the legendary Sancti Petri Castle island. The beach is southeast of the San Fernando and about five kilometres from the centre. To access the beach, come off the main road at Calle San Marcos and head toward the Gallineras fishing quay and down on to the beach. Parking spaces are normally available near the beach and there are the usual emergency and maritime help services available to the public. There are various decked access pathways to beach, as well as amenities such as beach showers, public toilets and rubbish bins. There are also specific points of access for the handicapped and wheelchair users.There is no land access from Sancti Pertri village or Chiclana.
