Nagüeles Park

Marbella - Nagüeles Park

This is a natural park located right at the foot of the Sierra Blanca mountain at the urbanisation Marbella Sierra Blanca, next to the Swan's International School in Marbella Hills Club in Nagüeles district. It has picnic tables, BBQ stations (not summer) and plenty of shade to enjoy a delightful day out in the country. It has a well equipped barbecue area with tables and cooking facilities.

It's a great place to get out of the busy town centre, it will give you an opportunity to enjoy nature, surrounded by tall pine trees with the beautiful La Concha mountain backdrop. It is an ideal retreat during the summer, offering plenty of shade and children in particular will enjoy climbing the trees. Sadly the playground that was once there has now been removed by the council, but it still remains a great family friendly area.

It is advisable not to visit this park on bank holidays or a Sunday, as it is a very popular place for the locals so it will not be as enjoyable as on another day, and difficult to find a picnic spot. In any case, you should get there as early as possible to secure a good table for your lunch!

The large car park is located next to Swans School on Calle Lago de los Cisnes. There is also a quieter area of park without facilities on the north side of Calle Albinoni where the Pinar de Nagúeles footpath starts.

Pinar de Nagúeles

A 13.6km signed footpath that passes through the park and continues to skirt the lower reaches of the Sierra Blanca to reach the village of Ojen. It can be quite tricky in places especially after rain. Spring and Autumn ae the best times to walk. It passes the ruined Ermita de los Monjes and the old mine 'Mina del Peñoncillo' or 'Mina la Concepcion'. Part in ruins and part reconstructed this iron ore mine was the founded in 1820 and lead to the growth of Marbella, its port, and finally its Aerial Cableway whose last tower remains at Banana Beach. See this Marbella TV video in Spanish.

DOG PARK

Marbella is very proud of the Dog Park which has been opened in Nagüeles. Quite a large area of woodland and a smaller area where they have different things - tunnel, seesaw, etc for the dogs to train and play on.
