SOTOGRANDE - Getting there

Sotogrande is located at the western and of the Costa del Sol in Cadiz province and within the municiapl district of San Roque.

Airports

Sotogrande is about one and half hours drive from Málaga Airport on the AP-7 motorway. it is also one and half hours drive from Jerez Airport and 25 minutes from Gibraltar airport

Access Sotogande Marina

Leave AP-7 exit km 133, close to Torreguadiaro village on the N-340 onto Avenida Mar del Sur which and leads into Sotogrande Marina.
 

ACCESS SOTOGRANDE COSTA

There are two access points to Sotogrande Costa from the A-7 coastal highway.

Opposite  to Pueblo Nuevo village (A-7 exit km 130) and take service road to km 131 where a small roundabout leads into Sotogrande via Avenida de Paniaguap> near Centro Comercial Paniaqua.

West of Pueblo Nuevo village (also A-7 exit 130) but take service road to km 129 where an entrance at a small roundabout leads into Avenida de Paniagua in the residential area.

ACCESS TO SOTOGRANDE ALTA

La Reserva de Sotogrande entrance

For La Reserva de Sotogrande take the Carretera de Arenillas, the A-2100 public country road in the westerly direction signposted Castillar. La Reserva de Sotogrande main entrance for La Reserva Golf and The Beach is on the right hand side after 500m. There is a second entrance to La Reserva de Sotogrande residences after 2km on the right hand side by Sotogrande School.

Avenida Almenara entrance

For Sotogrande Alto Almenara Golf and SO/ Hotel also take the the Carretera de Arenillas, A-2100 public country road in the westerly direction signposted Castillar. After 2km turn left at the small roundabout into Avenida Almenara. Continue past the lake on the right hand side, up the hill and at the T junction turn left for Zone F (most roads names begin with the letter F) residences. Turn right for Almenara Golf area and Zone G (most roads names begin with the letter G) residences or.

Avenida de los Cortijos entrance

After leaving the A-7 coastal highway at km 130 take the service road that runs next to and on the coast side of the highway in the direction of San Roque / Gibraltar. After 500m turn right, cross the highway on an overbridge and enter Avenida de los Cortijos at the security post. Zone C (most roads names begin with the letter C) residences are on the right hand side, Zone D (most roads names begin with the letter D) residences are on the left hand side. Continue one km for the Valderrama Golf area. Continue and on the right hand side is Avenida del Carment whcih leads to Sotogolf, Soto alto and residential Zone E. Continue further and on the right and left hand sides are the large residential area Zona F.

Security

There are barriers and security posts at all entrances. It is only necessary to stop momentarilly so your car numberplate can be photogrpahed, wave in a friendly manner and the barrier will be raised. 

 

 

Bus

Having a car is essential for Sotogrande.

Sotogrande is on the Estepona to La Linea (for Gibraltar) M130 bus route. Consult bus timetables on our La Linea and Estepona bus station pages.  Estepona to La Linea takes one and a half hours. Sotogrande is about one hour after Estepona or half and one hour after La Linea departure times. The bus stops are in village of Pueblo Nuevo and estate entrance at A-7 km 129 by the Calle Avenida de Paniagua. 

From Estepona you can take a bus to Marbella, Malaga Airport, Malaga City and via the main Malaga Bus Station and the other main destination on the Costa del Sol.  From La Linea you can walk accross the border to Gibraltar Airport.
