Cable Car Benalmadena

The Telecabina takes you on an amazing 15-minute journey in a four-person cable car right up to the highest point on the Málaga coast at an altitude of almost 800m above sea level. From this superb vantage point, you not only have the most magnificent views of the Costa del Sol, but also the awesome panoramic vistas of the Sierra Nevada mountains (white with snow in the winter months), the Guadalhorce Valley and on a clear day you can see Gibraltar and the coast of Africa.

Tivoli World, Amusement Park, Benalmadena

Tivoli World was the largest family entertainment theme park on the Costa del Sol. It is currenly closed. It is located in the heart of Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmadena.

Barbie Museum, Arroyo de la Miel

The Barbie Museum is closed. One of the most unusual attractions in Arroyo de la Miel is the little known Barbie Museum, located in Calle Andalucía, at the end of the pedestrianised Calle Blas Infante. Along with an impressive collection of 800 Barbie dolls, the museum, notable for its bright pink façade, has a collectables shop offering superhero and manga comics, animated Disney characters and toy soldiers.

Arroyo de la Miel - Plaza de España

Once the nucleus of Arroyo de la Miel, Plaza España is a delightful small square tucked away off the main pedestrianized area of the town. The square is entered though an 18th century archway known as the Portal de San Carlos. On the right, as one passes through the archway (which bears the coat of arms of Arroyo de la Miel's founder), a tiled wall offers information and painted images of the square's history.

Arroyo de la Miel - History

Solesio, an Italian impresario, purchased a small farm in 1784 to build six paper factories to supply the Royal Factory of Playing Cards in Macharaviaya, a small town in the Axarquia region of Malaga.
