Alvia (250km/h)

Alvia is the name of high-speed services (though not as fast as the AVE) which connect the major cities of Andalucia with the Spanish capital, Madrid.  The trains are made up from the RENFE Class 130 units. The Madrid to Cadiz and Huelva routes, use AVE track as far as Seville, and then the convention track from then on, cleverly changing over the train's guage, and offering passengers a more comfortable journey and shorter travelling times.

Intercity (160-200km/h)

Intercity is the name of Long-distance train service which connect Algeciras with the Spanish capital, Madrid.  The trains are made up from a RENFE locomotive pulling Talgo passenger carriages. (Talgo Class IV, VI, VII.) The Madrid to Algeciras route, use AVE track as far as Antequera Santa Ana, and then the convention track from then on to Algeciras, cleverly changing over the train's guage, and offering passengers a more comfortable journey and shorter travelling times. This service reaches a maximum speed of 200 km/hr.

Renfe Altaria was a long-distance, standard-speed, daytime passenger rail service provided by Renfe in Spain from 2001 to 2020. It was usually operated with a series IV or VI Talgo composition, hauled by a series 252 or 334 locomotive. On 22 June 2020, the Altaria brand disappeared in favour of Renfe Intercity, which combines several long-distance services under the same name.

 

Talgo

Talgo is the name of high-speed services (though not as fast as the AVE or Alvia or Altaria) which connects Almeria with the Spanish capital, Madrid. The trains are made up from a diesel RENFE locomotive pulling Talgo passenger carriages. Talgo Class IV, VI, VII.
