Palacio del Deán Ortega

Palacio del Deán Ortega

The palace was ordered to be built by Fernando Ortega Salido, Dean of the Catedral de Málaga and Cantor of the Real Colegiata Iglesia de Santa María de los Reales Alcázares and first Chaplain of the Sacra Capilla del Salvador. Its construction dates back to the middle of the sixteenth century in the midst of the Spanish Renaissance, knowing that in 1550 the slab for the ground floor was contracted. Its layout corresponds to the Renaissance architect, Andrés de Vandelvira, and the Royal Architect, Luis de la Vega would also intervene. On August 6, 1831, Ángel Ezequiel Fernández de Liencres y Pando de Castañeda bought the palace, ordering his coat of arms to be placed on its main façade, remaining there until today, with the Fernández de Liencres family continuing to be its owner until in 1929 when it became the Parador de Úbeda, one of the oldest in Spain.

Located in Plaza Váquez de Molina.
