Palacio de los Condes de Guadiana

Palacio de los Condes de Guadiana

The Palace of the Counts of Guadiana was built in the last years of the sixteenth century, and is organized around a small central courtyard. On the outside, its façade is decorated with balconies crowned by Mannerist style split pediments. The corner tower, the most emblematic element of the building, is known to have been built in the year 1613. As a whole, it is one of the most interesting buildings of this category in Andalusia, considering the Mannerist movement as the last variant of the Renaissance style, before its definitive evolution towards the Baroque. The mansion was known as the Palacio y Torre de Alicún until Juan Luis de la Cueva y Piédrola, second Count of Guadiana, came into possession of the property. It currently houses the first and only five-star luxury hotel in the province, the Hotel Palacio de Úbeda 5***** G.L.

Located on Calle Real.
