Antiguo Hospital de San Antonio Abad

Antiguo Hospital de San Antonio Abad

This building was founded in the early sixteenth century as a hospital. In 1791, by order of Pope Pius VI, the Order of San Antonio disappeared, incorporating its assets in Baeza, including the hospital, into those of La Concepción.

The hospital was transformed into a home for orphaned newborns and a hostel for pilgrims. In 1976, the building was restored and conditioned as the Youth House and Headquarters of the Red Cross. Between 1986 and 1988, the Baeza Workshop School restored it, conditioning it for the Historical Archive and Library.
